Welcome and thanks for visiting! I'm Lisa the owner of Pursenality Fabric Handmade Bags And Bag Accessories.

Setting Up Shop At The Hospital

August 21, 2008

Recently I got the opportunity to set up shop at my local specialty hospital. It was so much fun and everyone was so very nice.

I received lots of compliments on my designs, gave out business cards and made some sales.

I even made some really cute totes with breast cancer awareness pink ribbon fabric (I’m holding one in the picture) especially for this event.

Setting Up Shop At The Hospital

I was the only vendor that day and the hospital supplied me with a table for free! How awesome is that?

My hubby came up with the idea for and then made the stands you see in the picture. Pvc pipes. I love these stands, they are perfect for indoor events. Very easy to transport because they are lightweight. When I use them for outdoor events I place a weight at the base of each especially if it’s somewhat windy that day.

I also have these really neat easel type stands that he made (from pvc too). I didn’t have them with me this day because it was a small setup but I use them for regular events where I have the room to set up a full display. I’ll show you all how they look when I take pictures of my next event.

I’m going to ask if I could set up at this hospital again perhaps late fall, early winter. To see other pictures from this event visit the photo gallery.

First Friday May 08

May 7, 2008

There were lots of people and a nice sized bunch of vendors on the Commons where my booth was. The sun was shining and it was a hot day. I had plenty of help setting up (we had to be finished by 5:30 p.m.), with my husband and children there. I received so much positive feedback on my bags and of course I gave out business cards and made a few sales to boot! Awesome.

I do plan to upgrade my display with some grid panels soon. Next time I’m going to make sure I have my sign stand and this other really cute stand that I use to display bags on. Even though I forgot to bring those helps it was still a great day.

We were next to a vendor selling ice cream-Dippin’ Dots I think they are called. Anywho, I’m dieting so none for me but my son and daughter enjoyed them.

One of the vendors was raffling off a bike. Anthony (my hubby) took our daughter over to enter. She just knew that bike belonged to her. She didn’t win and this is her “I really wanted to win that bike Mom” look:

Nonetheless she had a lot of fun anyway.

I’m already excited about the next First Friday. I’m displaying Pursenality bags and accessories at other upcoming local events too so keep checking in on my blog for places and dates.
